Because there are variables beyond my control (clays, papers, water, mixing errors and etc) always pre test fire what you have before a big project. No guarantee can be offered that 'alternative" commercial paperclays now on the market will meet the all the performance advantages of my high performance trademark P'Clay® brand only available from licensed manufacturers/distributors.

Tile and Building Materials
Certain, but not all recipes of paperclay prove to function in ram press and extrusion factory equipment.
For any factory with water based manufacturing equipment there may not be a need to switch to the high tech dry powder press. Double green strength results allow shipping and transport of greenware paperclay. Also the fired finish weight of some paperclay is less also.
The thermal shock enhancement of some paperclay may make sense for refractory tile and refractory slurry purpose too. A paperclay sheet fired flat could serve also as a ceramic stove cook stove surface surface also.
I have a written document about the waterbased industrial scale manufacture process.
Essentially the dry press powder manufacture technology was a means to workaround limits of traditional clay in particular losses due to fracture during the process of production. However the technology is expensive to invest in out of the reach of many concerns who already have water based equipment especially.
To address this issue, I have written a long document (100 pages) about how to convert water based manufacturing of ceramics products... sanitary ware, building materials to paperclay without needing to invest in new gear. The reason to consider switching to paper clay is to have instant double strong green ware that can be prepared assembled or shipped to other locations to be fired if needed. Plus the larger products would be lighter weight when finished. Plus one could use recycled paper pulp waste or even excess glaze or scrap clays. There are many good reasons to save money on production. these are but a few.
