Teaching Travels 1990s

Besides encouraging articles, another way that word spread quickly, was that I personally demonstrated the unusual benefits of properly balanced paperclay as invited guest to diverse groups since 1991. In 1993 I demonstrated at USA NCECA and encouraged Brian Gartside, Hay, and others, to teach it too. In one busy year 1994, I demonstrated in 8 countries and 3 continents. This website was initally launched in 1994 also.

Helsinki, Finland

University of Industrial Arts Helsinki : June 1992 at "Interaction in Ceramics; Art Design and Research", a book was published by UIAH containing information about this presentation. In 1996 I taught at UIAH as part of the Masters of Contemporary Ceramics concurrent with the 1996 conference "Networks in Ceramics." My paper was published inthat document also. Leena Juvoneen was at the 1992 talk and her work is worth study, among others. Also Jeong Ah KIm was present at this event as was David Kingery, NIna Hole, and others.

Guest of the group "Clay Today", slide lecture and workshops at The Royal Academy for Art and Design in Copenhagen (1996), The Arhus Academy of Art, in Arhus (1996), The Art Institute in Kolding (1994) and at other Clay Today Events around Denmark and in Skaelskor during early stage planning for the establishment of International Ceramics Research Center at Guldagergaard

Instructional slide lecture at "Clay Towards the Millennium" event at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London sponsored by Ceramic Review Magazine in 1994. Private tutoring to professors and artists while in London.

Canada

Banff Centre for the Arts, Banff, Alberta, 1996. Rosette was a guest speaker at the "Canada Greece Ceramic Symposium". She has also been a resident artist in 1990-1991, and 1998- 1999, 2004-5. The Banff Centre has internationally attended artist residencies so word passed quickly from there via Ed Bamiling and others.
