Authors and "word of mouth" helped make sure paperclay spread around the world. A personal thank you to all in front of and behind the scenes, indeed all the people and institutions and far sighted people that supported my efforts to share the results of my research. Without each of you it could not have happened as it has. Brian Gartside, for example, is one pioneer who took "the risk of his career" to introduce paperclay that I prepared for him in my Seattle studio to a UK audience at Abyrysterwyth, Wales a few months after my demonstration to an NCECA conference in San Diego 1993. Hay adopted my suggestion of joins wet on dry immediately after he read my first article 1992 and has been teaching that method ever since. I encouraged everyone I could to join me in enjoying it. I am gratefull to all who helped me do the hard work behind the scenes that lead up to the introduction of the idea for testing and scrutiny by my peers.
